James Horner - The Rocketeer
James Roy Horner (August 14, 1953 – June 22, 2015) was one of the most highly regarded film score composers from the 1980s up to the present time. Among the over 100 film scores Horner composed many were award-winning. A small listing of these is The Lady in Red, Krull, Star Trek III, Cocoon, Aliens, Field of Dreams, Titanic, and Avatar. His parents were both Jewish immigrants; his father from Austria-Hungary and his mother from Canada. His brother, Christopher, is a writer and documentary filmmaker.

Richard Rodgers - Victory at Sea
Richard Rodgers (1902-1979) was not only a gifted composer, providing beautiful sound environments for songs and musicals; he made significant contributions to modern Western Art Music. He also directed Broadway productions and created soundtracks for television. Richard Rodgers composed 13 hours of theme music for Victory at Sea, a 26 episode television series which honored the brave seaborne warriors who served in World War II, mostly in the South Pacific. To date, this is the longest symphonic work ever written. A sampling of this major musical work is presented for your listening pleasure.
